Snowshoeing Season Resurges
One of Vancouver’s outdoor highlights is its close proximity to mountains, which is covered in snow during the winter months. While the city witnesses never ending rain from December to March, it’s a perfect time to head to the mountains and experience snow instead. For many travelers who’ve never seen snow before, Vancouver provides a perfect beginner’s experience without the freezing temperatures of a typical winter city.
Unlike the last couple of years, Vancouver was blessed, if you will, with unseasonably warm temperatures especially compared to the rest of Canada. However, the snow came back with a vengeance and although it created havoc on the city roads, it was perfect for snowshoeing and other snow sports. We at Nature PhotoHikes have had a busy season so far with plenty of snowshoeing trips – from easy trails in Mount Seymour and Whistler to difficult ones in Garibaldi Lake and Elfin Lakes.
