Fall Brings Wedding Proposals
With beautiful fall colours and persistent warm weather, Vancouver continues to host visitors from all over the world. This is also a perfect time to enjoy some quiet couple time, away from the summer crowds. Needless to say, it’s also a time for proposals, given the time of year and beauty of nature. We were lucky to witness such a proposal this week!
The soon to be groom had told me he would propose to his girlfriend somewhere in the Lynn Canyon Park when we were doing one of our many tours there. Even though I was familiar with many quiet spots – hidden from the crowds – I’d promised the couple they’d get the famous Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge all to themselves for a photo if we went the right time of day. After two hours of a magical tour of the forest, waterfalls, natural pools and fall splendor, we finally got to the bridge. As the crowds continued approaching the bridge, the couple almost gave up but I told them to be patient. Sure enough, within five minutes the couple found themselves all alone. After taking a dozen or so photos of the couple, the boyfriend got down on one knee – much to the surprise of everyone around and not the least the girlfriend. The crowd on either side of the bridge waited patiently, and cheered and clapped when she said yes – making it a very special moment for everyone
This is what the soon to be bride had to say: “From the get-go, Nafees was super energetic and happy to show us around the city of Vancouver. Being that he grew up in the city, he was more than happy to give up tips on how to get around the city and what other sights to see. He was everything I wanted in a tour guide — patient, knowledgeable, and hilarious! He was also there to take pictures when my now-fiancé proposed on the suspension bridge ❤️❤️ that is a memory that we will remember forever, and we cannot thank him enough for that!”
We wish the couple all the best of what their future holds together. They even promised to return to the same location as husband and wife, and perhaps bring along their dog 🙂
