Northern Lights Tour Captures Best of North
We finally saw bright, dancing, coloured, lights – every, single, night, of our trip! I’ve always wondered if the saying ‘photos don’t do justice’ really applied to the northern lights as cameras tend to capture better images than our naked eye. Our last 2 trips, however, were exceptions.
If there’s ever a bucket list of experiences that leaves us in awe and amazed, we sure crossed this one off of it!Even though we’ve gone to Whitehorse and Yellowknife several times to view the Northern Lights, this past February and March trips gave us a few firsts.
Firstly, the temperatures dipped below -40 degrees most nights with temperatures rising to a sizzling -30 during the days. Which meant going through lots of hand and feet warmers, even though most of us were quite bundled up.
And perhaps most importantly, we got to view the best lights up to date; instead of just capturing photos, we were in awe of the amazing lights viewed through the naked eyes.
In addition to the northern lights, attendees enjoyed a real Canadian winter, taking in activities like dog sledding, wild life viewing, driving on frozen lakes, hot springs and snowshoeing.
