Project: Help Rohingya Refugees

Update: Donations were matched by the Canadian government till September 28th, 2017. We raised $400 which was doubled, so a total of $800 was donated!

As Nature PhotoHikes continues to contribute part of its proceeds to various causes, our next project is helping Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

The conflict in Myanmar has forced over 415,000 Rohingya people to flee their homes to Bangladesh forming a new humanitarian crisis. Children, women and families are escaping and leaving their homes and everything they own behind, and walking for long, exhausting journeys in uncertainty seeking safety in strained Bangladesh refugee camps. They are hungry, in poor physical condition and in need of life-saving support after their terrible ordeal.

UNHCR is working tirelessly with its partners to register the new arrivals and provide them with lifesaving aid like shelter, food, water and healthcare. Their airlifts of vital aid have started as well, but as the influx is increasing daily, needs are escalating, leaving operations in Bangladesh underfunded.

Please DONATE to UNHCR’s relief efforts in Bangladesh directly or by attending tours led by Nature PhotoHikes, starting this fall through the winter seasons. The Canadian Government recently announced that it will match all donations made before November 28 dollar for dollar. Which means our proceeds have double the impact!

You can either donate directly to UNHCR or your charity of choice. Thank you!
